The Power of Paddock

Success Stories

child protection centerChild Protection Center (CPC) provides prevention, intervention, and treatment of child abuse. Most recently, funds from the Paddock Foundation were used to conduct medical assessments and forensic interviews for children of suspected abuse. CPC’s role is critical in both identifying and evaluating child abuse, abandonment, and neglect, and in recommending effective interventions and treatments to ensure a successful recovery from the trauma of child abuse. Funds from the Paddock Foundation support the community’s most vulnerable population: children who are abused, neglected, and exploited, providing them with hope for their future.

children first

Children First provides comprehensive services for at-risk children and families, including early childhood education, nutrition, emotional and behavioral support, and family-strengthening services. Funding from the Paddock Foundation has provided scholarships to Children First for families throughout our community. Scholarships ensure that children who live in poverty have access to a high-quality early childhood education during the first five years of their life, maximizing a child’s learning capacity. Access to early childhood education also ensures parents have the opportunity to strengthen their financial position and achieve self-sufficiency.

eastersealsEasterseals of Southwest Florida offers the highest quality of care and services to children, youth and adults with special needs. Most recently the organization used grant funding from the Paddock Foundation to support its Cooking Matters program, which teaches participants healthy eating habits and cooking techniques. In addition to fostering healthy nutritional behaviors for families, the program nurtures independence for young adults with disabilities.

the havenThe Paddock Foundation supports The Haven’s coordination and delivery of healthcare services to its forty-nine residents who reside in six group homes on its campus. All forty-nine residents have multiple disabilities that are often accompanied by medical conditions, which require round the clock care. Having out-lived their parents, most of the residents do not have family engaged in their daily lives and rely on The Haven’s staff as primary caregivers to ensure their wellbeing. Funds from the Paddock Foundation make it possible to support the health and safety needs of all residents while also enhancing their quality of life through a variety of social activities they would not otherwise be able to access.
